The lyrics are magnificent, but never have prose and visuals melded to proffer a more confounding message. The notion that voting (for a major party candidate) will remedy any of the unfortunate circumstance detailed within the song lyrics is utter folly. Anyone who thinks honestly and earnestly knows this to be true. Most folks I know are simply voting for the candidate they believe will do the least damage in the coming four years—not the one that will bring “hope & change” as promised, in vain, by the outgoing regime.
“Do the least damage”: the mantra of the American voter—a pathetic commentary on the state of affairs at this moment!
